When you don’t know what to do, what do you do? Your answer to this thoughtful question marks the beginning of a rewarding personal journey. We all need three things—to belong, to experience intimacy, and, every now and again, to feel special. This is not too much to ask from our lives. But learning how to get what we most need requires that we catch up with our past, become better at navigating our future, and become more present with and sensitive to what is happening right now. Getting these needs met requires the willingness to make new mistakes and learn a new way of dealing with old problems.
